Interesting question asked by RWW a few days ago … and quite scary results I must say 🙂 Of course, the survey wasn’t really only for Social Media working in PR only and was really Technology oriented, but it reveals some interesting insights.
As for me, I would insist on the necessity on training and sharing information as much as possible. Social Media force us to be agile and to adapt rapidely. It’s also a reminder to remain humble enough to keep learning from something as vast as Social Media.
Over the past couple days, we’ve been able to put together a decent picture and identify some knowledge gaps and points of confusion for many would-be social media experts. But first, let’s address why some of the RWW staff – and many of our readers, some of whom must hire social media experts – feel it’s important for even the most marketing-oriented of consultants to have a rudimentary understanding of the workings of the Web, including its ecosystem of companies and applications.
