Facebook and Twitter Making a Major Impact on Purchase Decisions"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>This is the kind of stats I was waiting for a long time &#8211; in front of clients waiting for decades about any ROI that they could imagine to unlock budget for social media. Now, we have figures \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<div>\n<blockquote><p>A new study shows that those who are fans or  followers of a brand on Facebook or Twitter, respectively, are  significantly more likely to buy products and services or recommend the  brand to a friend.<\/p>\n<p>Specifically, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cmbinfo.com\/news\/press-center\/social-media-release-3-10-10\/\" target=\"_blank\">the study<\/a> by Chadwick Martin Bailey and iModerate  Research Technologies found that consumers are 67% more likely to buy  from the brands they follow on Twitter, and 51% more likely to buy from a  brand they follow on <a href=\"http:\/\/mashable.com\/social-media\/facebook\">Facebook<\/a><span><a rel=\"http:\/\/www.blippr.com\/apps\/336650-Facebook.whtml\" href=\"http:\/\/www.blippr.com\/apps\/336650-Facebook\" target=\"_blank\"><span> (<\/span><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/netdna.blippr.com\/images\/inline-face_05.png?1265851550\" alt=\"Facebook\" width=\"14\" height=\"14\" \/><span>)<\/span><\/a><\/span>.   Moreover, they\u2019re 79% more likely to recommend their <a href=\"http:\/\/mashable.com\/social-media\/twitter\">Twitter<\/a><span><a rel=\"http:\/\/www.blippr.com\/apps\/336651-Twitter.whtml\" href=\"http:\/\/www.blippr.com\/apps\/336651-Twitter\" target=\"_blank\"><span> (<\/span><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/netdna.blippr.com\/images\/inline-face_07.png?1265851550\" alt=\"Twitter\" width=\"14\" height=\"14\" \/><span>)<\/span><\/a><\/span> follows  to a friend, and 60% more likely to do the same on Facebook:<\/p>\n<p>Of  course, those findings might be a bit overstated \u2014 many people actively  seek out the brands they\u2019re already fans of and follow or fan them on  Twitter and Facebook.  But there\u2019s still much to be said for the  mindshare that engaging those existing brand enthusiasts on social media  sites creates, in turn keeping them active.
